Collection Procedures and Pricing Guide

How we do this

We're a traveling semen processing lab. We stop at pre-scheduled host farms along our route as we wind our way around the United States, bringing the technology to your farm and leaving you with frozen straws of semen.

We require a 10 buck/300 straw minimum to schedule a stop. Most farms don’t have ten bucks to process so we ask you to get together with your fellow breeders and decide upon a host farm. On collection day, everyone brings their animals to the designated farm and we get to work.

It can be a fun day of camaraderie so bring your sense of humor and your lunch.

For Hosts

Hosts and host farms are an invaluable part of the collection process. As a host, we will need a few things from you before your scheduled date(s) that will help the collection run more smoothly. These are:

  • Our rig is a traveling lab. The combined length is 60', the trailer is 42' long, 13' high, and 9' wide.  We will need nearly level ground with abundant maneuvering space for us to set up.  Collection will be conducted as close to the lab as possible.  We will arrive the day prior to collection and depart the following day.
  • Very important: We prefer access to a 14-50R (50 amp) RV electrical outlet within 25 feet of the space allocated for our rig.  At a minimum, we NEED (2) separate 20 amp circuits.  The processing equipment cannot work properly without adequate power.
  • The address of your collection site so we can work it into our travel schedule.  Once we confirm your stop, we will ship a small box of pre-printed straws and other necessary supplies directly to you for safe keeping until the day of collection.
  • A private stop off the route or at an alternate time of year schedule can be estimated for you based on mileage and number of bucks.
  • If you do not show or cancel for your scheduled collection, we reserve the right to refuse service for future collections.
  • A list of the buck owners participating in your stop along with email addresses and phone numbers for each owner so we may contact them for further information.
  • Please ask all of your participants to be on site by 7:45am.
  • Access to restrooms and a shower if possible.
  • At least 3 does in standing heat on the days of collection.
  • Younger does are best suited for this task, as they tend to not tire as easily as older does do with multiple jumps. If you will be using Lutalyse to bring does into heat, we recommend injecting 4 does: 2 at 24 hours before collection and 2 at 36 hours before collection. Please consult your veterinarian for dosage instructions.

Paperwork Filing Policy

Semen collection information will be sent to ADGA or alternate registry upon return to home office, as long as payment has been processed in full. If your account is paid in full before we leave the stop, your copy of the collection form will be left with you or the host.  In the event that your check or credit card does not clear, a $35 bounced payment fee will be added to your invoice and we will contact you for an alternate form of payment. Once the new payment has cleared your paperwork will be taken off hold and filed with ADGA/alternate registry within 60 days.
